Welcome To Our Website

Wakefield Methodist (Voluntary Controlled) Junior and Infant School is a Methodist Church Controlled School working under the guidance of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council Family Services Department.

As a Methodist Controlled School we are unique within Wakefield and the surrounding area; one of only a few within Yorkshire.

We are a relatively small inner city Primary School established on its present site in 1974. Previously the original Methodist School had been in Thornhill Street, Wakefield.

Our Mission

“As a Christian School where prayer is an important aspect of our lives we are committed to provide a happy and caring learning environment in which staff and pupils work in partnership with parents to promote the desire to learn”.

We have an excellent reputation for our pastoral care for pupils. Our reputation as a caring, Community School with a Christian ethos continues to grow. We attract pupils from far beyond our designated catchment area.

We believe firmly that all children are individuals and are treated as such, encouraging them to always do their best, work hard but to enjoy their time with us.

We hope you find our website interesting and informative.

The children, staff, parents and governors alike take pride in our school.

We value the individual - while providing the finest care and education.
